[ Music ]>>Let’s start with the very basics
of public speaking — breathing. Sometimes when people get nervous, they
start to breathe faster and shallower, which negatively impacts the
voice as well as the presentation. In fact, for some people, they
could start to hyperventilate. So to avoid that, all you have to do is
utilize a simple deep breathing technique. So the next time you have a conference
call, presentation, or interview, simply take five minutes to yourself. Breathe in through the nose
for a count of three, and out through the mouth for a count of three. [Deep breaths] Repeat that several
times and it will help calm your nerves. In addition, it gives you a little
bit of mental time to prepare so that you can give it your best. Now, you’re still going to have
butterflies inside your stomach, but if you can control your breathing,
you can control the butterflies. [ Music ]
