I’m Dr Catharine Goodson from Midtown Dentistry. Does this sound like you: sweaty palms, high
Anxiety, deathly afraid to go to the Dentist. Have you postponed your dental treatment due
to fear? If this sounds like you, Midtown Dentistry
has A wonderful solution to help you complete the Dental treatment you need, want and deserve. Sedation dentistry allows our patients to
relax and Have dental treatment completed comfortably. There are three types of sedation we use in
our practice. The first is the gas, or nitrous oxide. The gas is Odorless and breathed through your
nose during your dental treatment. You are awake during your appointment, you
are just relaxed. You will not go to sleep while breathing the
nitrous oxide gas When You use gas you will remember your appointment. After your appointment is finished you Are
able to drive home. The second type of sedation is a pill that
you take One hour before your appointment. The pill relaxes you more than the gas. Because it makes you sleepy You need someone
to bring you to your appointment and take you home. Some people sleep during their appointment,
and most say they don’t remember much about their visit. The third type of sedation is medicine that
is put in your arm with an IV. This type of sedation is called Twilight sleep
or IV sedation. It is the same medicine that is used for an
outpatient procedure. It is very safe. You are breathing on your own so it is not
deep sedation like major surgery. You will not be able to drive yourself home,
so you will need someone to drive you. If you have questions about which type of
sedation Is best for you please give me a call and I can discuss it with you. We look forward to caring for you in one of
our four offices.
