Hello my name is Dhivyaah Sandrasekaran
and I am a final year dental student in National University of Malaysia. My criterion for selecting
the right gloves is allergic free. I am allergic to latex. Some powdered gloves causes irritation
to my skin and also itchiness due to the chemicals presence
in the glove post manufacturer. I can’t practice dentistry with itchy hand. Thus, non-powdered nitrile gloves can be
the best alternative to solve my problems. What I like about good quality gloves
is that they are not easily torn off. We as dental students,
handle a lot of sharp instruments. Good quality gloves
provide protection against injury by not tearing off easily
and also provide good grip. Good quality gloves also comes with
excellent tactile sensation which improves my manual dexterity in handling those instruments
without slipping and causing injuries. With good quality gloves, I feel confident and comfortable in giving treatment to patients to meet their demand which
increases the quality of life of patients. It is crucial to choose the right type of glove
as we all know, dentist and gloves are best friends in providing treatment to patient in aseptic manner. Choosing the right type of gloves comfort
both patient and clinician and helps to provide treatment to its best.
