Kids died of smoke inhalation, mother and neighbor of gunsh0t wounds in Cleveland quadruple homicide Three bodies were found Tuesday inside a Cleveland home next to a field where a man was found shot to death. CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 2 year old girl and her 6 year old brother died of smoke inhalation and their mother and neighbor died of gunshot wounds in a quadruple homicide in Clevelands Slavic Village neighborhood, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner said. Police have not announced any arrests in the case, the deadliest crime in Cleveland since November 2014. Takeyra Collins, 25, and her neighbor David Cousin, 35, each died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner said. Police said Collins was shot in the stomach and back. Collins two children— Armond Johnson Jr., 6, and Aubree Stone, 2— died of smoke inhalation, the medical examiner said. All four deaths were ruled homicides. Cousins body was found about 8 a.m. in a field near his home on East 63rd Street near Fleet Avenue. Cleveland police officers found Collins and her two children after they smelled smoke coming from her nearby home. The officers spotted the two children from outside and broke in through a door. They also found Collins dead in the home, police said. The medical examiners office said it had no other information to release, including a time of death. Investigators have not offered any motive for the slayings. Collins had previously reported being the victim of domestic violence in 2014 and again by another man in 2018, according to police reports. Cuyahoga County spokeswoman Devyn Giannetti said in an email that the countys Department of Children and Family Services had only two contacts with Collins— once in 2014 in a complaint that was found to be unsubstantiated and again on June 17. Giannetti said the June 17 contact was in reference to Collins being the victim of domestic violence. Social workers had referred her and her children to services for victims of domestic abuse. Children and Family Services records are largely unavailable to the public. Registration on or use of this site constitutes acceptance of our and 2019 Advance Ohio. All rights reserved .
