Prevent Mouth Sores- Oil Pulling with Chemo

Prevent Mouth Sores- Oil Pulling with Chemo

Articles Blog

Everyone welcome back to My Breast Choice. I am Aniela, and in today’s episode I am going to
teach you guys how to Oil Pull. Now, oil pulling in ancient Ayurvedic practice where you put oil in your mouth and swish it around and spit it out after about 20
minutes. It’s suppose to remove toxins. It whitens your teeth, and there is a crazy long list of
“claimed” benefits for it. I started chemotherapy and within the
first week I got my first mouth sore. Which is a very
common side effect on chemo. It was on Christmas morning. I woke up with
this hole in my mouth that hurt, made it hard to eat,
hard to talk, made it more miserable that it already was. I wanted to see if I could prevent it. So, I tried oil pulling again and by the next day my mouth was healed. I’ve been
doing this since I started chemo now and it’s been
about three months and I have to tell you have not had a single mouths sore since I have been oil pulling. My mouth looks amazing. My oncologist looked at my mouth last week and she was shocked at how
great looked. And she actually told me that she has been recommending oil pulling to
her other cancer patients who are on chemo right now. Amazing
tip while you are on chemo. and if you’re not on chemo, imagine the benefits you will get from doing this. So, I’m going to teach you guys how to do it and what you are going to need for it. Here is what you’re going to need for
oil pulling. An oil. They say you can use sesame, sunflower, but I prefer coconut oil. And I use organic coconut oil. This guy is 54 fluid ounces that I bought from Costco for like $17. You’re going to want clove oil. 100% pure organic clove oil. Salt. Just regular table salt. A Cup and a tea spoon. Alright, let’s get started. For the best results
you guys are going to want to do this first thing in the morning. Use a teaspoon of coconut oil or however
much fits comfortable in your mouth and add
about three to five drops of clove oil. The integrative medicine
doctor at UM Sylvester suggested that I added clove oil to my oil pulling and I have definitely noticed an added
benefit from that one little step. We are finally
to the actual oil pulling part. We are just going to gently swished the oil
through your teeth and gums, and around your tongue for the next 20 minutes. and during this time find something to do. I
liked dance. Spit your oil into a trash can. Not into a sink or into a toilet or really
even into the ground, unless you want to kill the weeds. Take a paper towel, spit it out and throw it away. Next, we’ll swish with some salt water. This isn’t an exact science. I just eyeball it.
It’s about a 1/2 a teaspoon of salt and I use about a
1/4 cup of warm water. Allow the salt to dissolved into the water and
then lightly rinse with the salt water
solution until you use the entire glass up. It’s going to make sure that you get rid
of all those toxins that have been released into your mouth. Tad-a, your mouth is perfect and beautiful. hope

I've been stressing all week so tomorrow at 1pm I will know it seem like my entire family wants to come and that's more overwhelming then going by myself but I don't want to tell them no they can't go. until tomorrow good night

  9. Hi there! I was just diagnosed 4 weeks ago with "Invasive Lobular carcinoma " and after my 1st chemo I have the absolute worst mouth sores! Sometimes I'm in so much pain I'm crying! I will definitely try this! Hopefully I'll get some relief!

  10. Your video has saved me from having to suffer through the mucositis caused by the side effects of chemo. I just finished another round of chemo and typically 70% of my mouth is affected but since the short time i started I have not had any. The doctors don't even talk about this. They had me using Miracle Mouthwash 4 times a day + baking soda/ salt water mixture when all I needed was to watch this video. I hope this video stays up and continues to help others going through chemo suffering through excruciating mouth ulcers.

  11. Hey beautiful sexy lady!!! I have cancer too and I receive chemotherapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. My cancer is Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Left Parotid(salivary glands), which has mestatized to my lungs. I have been winning this battle since 1999. I iterally cry because my mouth hurts so bad. I use Magic Mouth, which is a liquid oral pain numbing medication. It only lasts for about 20 minutes or so and then it begins hurting again. Some days I can't eat because of the pain. I'm going to try this and I will let you know if it works for me. Thank you so much for sharing 😚 #onelove

  12. wish I had found this earlier!!! I'm 15 years old and on May 10th of this year i was diagnosed with stage 3 grey zone lymphoma. which is has properties of Hodgkin and non Hodgkin. i have gone through 5 rounds of chemo, finishing my last one actually yesterday. I am supposedly cancer free, but I am looking for anyway to prevent these damn sores. I have to say, for when you made this video, you look amazing. Hope you kicked cancer's ass along with me. Lots of love!

  13. You are amazing. My wife has breast cancer. How are you? This is 2015? I'm doing all the research I can to be there for her. She's my rock and I want her comfy. She is getting mouth sores.

  14. Thank you so much for this! My mom is starting chemo today and we are currently oil pulling as a preventative matter. I heard that it can also be useful to do oil pulling after a chemo session. Do you agree? Or just in the morning it is fine? Also, did you do this every single day? Or at a certain point a few times a week? Thank you so much for your advise!

  15. Oh my God! It worked. It really works. My whole mouth was tender. I had sores. Because of chemo. Anything I ate sting like crazy but I was hungry so forced myself to eat. That coconut oil and clove oil works. Mouth isn't a hundred percent, possibly because I didn't keep it in my mouth for 20mins, believe me I tried twice. But just now, I'm eating soup with spicy seasoning and it doesn't burn or sting. I will be doing this every day. Thank you for sharing!😍😘

  16. Doesn’t oil pulling with coconut oil pull out chemicals, so the chemotherapy chemicals might get pulled out as well?

  17. Greetings! Thank you so much for creating this video. My friend will start chemo nxt week. May I ask if she should do it everyday & for how many times? Thank you & God Bless
