CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two young children who were among Tuesday in the citys Slavic Village neighborhood likely died of smoke inhalation, police said. Their mother, 25 year old Takeyra Collins, was fatally shot in the stomach and back, police said on Wednesday. A neighbor, , was shot in the head and back, police said. Officials on Wednesday identified the 6 year old boy as Armond Johnson Jr. The 2 year old girls name has not been released. An uncle initially said the children were 3 and 5 years old. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has not yet made an official ruling on the deaths. is the deadliest crime in Cleveland in nearly five years. Police released little new information early Wednesday, other than how each died. No arrests have been announced. Cousin was found dead about 8 a.m. Tuesday in a field near his home on East 63rd Street and Fleet Avenue. Officers found him with three gunshot wounds and medics pronounced him dead, police said. Officers canvassed the neighborhood while investigating his death and smelled smoke coming from Collins home. Officers saw the two dead children through a window. They broke the door and found a small fire inside the home, along with Collins body, police said. Collins was a house cleaner and raised the kids, family members said. The 6 year old boy liked the video game Fortnite and he and his sister liked Pokemon, their uncle said. The 2 year old girl liked princesses. Cousin owned his own home remodeling company and was well liked by his employees, according to family members and friends.
